President Receives Delegation Ahead of Inauguration

The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received a delegation from the MAVAMAR Industries group, led by its Chairman and CEO, Mr. Souleymane Ndoye, in an audience this Friday. This meeting comes ahead of the inauguration of the group’s refinery located in Sendou, a major national industrial project.

Project Scale and Economic Impact

The plant, whose official inauguration by the Head of State is scheduled for next week, will have an estimated production capacity of 600 tons of edible oils per day. This project represents a total investment of 60 billion CFA francs and is expected to create numerous direct and indirect jobs, with positive spillover effects on the local and national economy.

Strategic Focus on Agro-Industry

Discussions focused on the various challenges related to the launch of this industrial unit, considered strategic for the development of the agro-industrial sector in Senegal. The Sendou refinery is part of a drive for local processing of raw materials, reducing imports, and strengthening the national value chain.

Through this structuring initiative, the State reaffirms its commitment to making industrialization a key driver of economic growth, while contributing to strengthening food sovereignty.
