From rare Rolex icons and Piaget masterpieces to exceptional table and pocket watches: an auction for connoisseurs and collectors.
When the auction bell rings at Bonhams, it’s no longer just about selling precious timepieces, but also about passing on history, rarity, and the fascination of exceptional mechanical achievements. The upcoming auction on February 25 brings together a curated selection of extraordinary watches that hold special relevance from both technical and cultural perspectives. At the center are rare Rolex references, which count among the most coveted collector’s items due to their historical significance. The offering is complemented by numerous elegant models whose fine design reflects the aesthetic spectrum of haute horlogerie. Furthermore, the auction opens a view onto those forms of timekeeping that rarely stand in the spotlight today, with artistically crafted table clocks and an exceptional pocket watch.

This Piaget Polo from the early 1980s embodies pure jetset design. The tonneau-shaped 18-karat gold case is 32 millimeters in size and features brushed and polished surfaces. On the dial, Piaget opts for a similarly brushed-polished, gold-plated look with applied dot indices and slender hands. Inside, the quartz Caliber 757P works, combining the luxurious look with everyday accuracy. The timepiece is rounded off by the integrated gold link bracelet with a signed folding clasp, which, as one might expect, is also made of gold, completing the iconic Polo aesthetic. Estimate: €5,700 to €8,000.
