2022 was a year of steady development for the jadeite industry, marked by the integration and advancement of both online and offline channels. Not only did the overall market for jadeite experience a significant surge, but major mainstream auction houses also competed to auction jadeite jewelry. Furthermore, various jadeite purchasing channels catering to different service needs emerged.
In 2022, the auction market for Ming and Qing dynasty old jadeite witnessed a series of remarkable high-value auction records. These auction items garnered significant attention due to their rarity, exquisite craftsmanship, and historical-cultural value.
Among the lots, jadeite items accounted for fifty percent, with ruby and sapphire items each making up twenty percent, and emerald items comprising ten percent. Below are the TOP 20 jadeite and colored gemstone lots by hammer price in global auctions for 2022:

At the “Oriental Ruili · Jewelry and Jadeite Special Auction,” 128 out of 185 offered jewelry lots were sold, achieving a sell-through rate of 61.9% and a total turnover of 86.89 million CNY. This performance ranked fifth in total turnover among all previous jewelry and jadeite special auctions.
It is well known that due to various reasons, the Xiling Seal Art Society’s Autumn Auction, originally scheduled for December 28, 2022, was successfully concluded last Friday with a total turnover of 400 million CNY and an overall sell-through rate of 83%. Among these, at the “Oriental Ruili · Jewelry and Jadeite Special Auction,” 191 jewelry lots were offered.
