As Da Nang prepares for the 2026 Lunar New Year, proactive measures are underway to ensure a stable and safe electricity supply for residents and businesses. This article outlines the steps being taken to meet the anticipated surge in demand.
As the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse) approaches, the electricity demand from residents and businesses in Da Nang city is increasing. Da Nang Power Company has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure safe and stable power supply, optimally benefiting people’s daily lives and the city’s production and business activities.
Starting from the final months of 2025, Da Nang Power Company has accelerated comprehensive review and inspection of the entire power grid system across the city; promptly address existing technical issues and shortcomings, reinforce critical points, and develop safe operation plans for all situations, especially considering potentially complex weather conditions during the 2026 Lunar New Year holidays.
According to Da Nang Power Company’s assessment, in the context of the city’s economy’s continuous improvement and positive growth, electricity demand for production and business is increasing rapidly, particularly in industrial zones and intensive production clusters.
Ensuring stable power supply in the final months of the year has provided favorable conditions for businesses to maintain production levels, meet peak order demands, and prepare business plans for the new year.
According to Mr. Le Hoang Khanh Nhut, General Director of Da Nang Rubber Company, the end of the year is a time when businesses have to work overtime and operate at maximum capacity to meet delivery deadlines.

According to many businesses, the power sector’s proactive approach in infrastructure investment, operational management, and technical support has significantly contributed to stabilizing production, especially during the year-end and the peak period before the Lunar New Year.
In addition to ensuring power supply for production, in the final months of 2025, Da Nang Power Company faced numerous difficulties due to natural disasters, heavy rains, and prolonged widespread flooding, affecting the power grid system and the daily lives of people in many low-lying areas.
Facing risks of electrical safety hazards and disruptions to daily life, the unit mobilized maximum resources and personnel, organized 24/7 emergency response; promptly inspected and isolated dangerous areas, immediately handled any incidents that arose, and restored power supply immediately after water receded, ensuring complete safety during the power restoration process.
Notably, Da Nang’s power sector participated in the “Quang Trung Campaign,” under which officials and employees were directly sent to each residential area and house affected by flooding to conduct free inspection and repair of electrical systems after the meter and replace damaged equipment.
Alongside disaster relief efforts, Da Nang Power Company continues to maintain effective management and operations, and invests in power grid infrastructure.
Commercial electricity output is estimated to reach 6.67 billion kilowatt-hours by 2025, a 4.1% increase compared to 2024; the power loss rate will decrease to only 3.2%, lower than the set target. Power generation and grid systems will be continuously strengthened and modernized to meet urban development and the city’s socio-economic development needs.
According to forecasts, electricity demand during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) holidays will increase by approximately 8% compared to the same period last year.
Given this situation, Da Nang’s power sector has developed a detailed and scientific power supply plan; from the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 7th day of Tet, no work causing power cuts or reduced power supply will be carried out, except in cases of emergency repairs or upon request from competent authorities.
Mr. Le Hung Cuong, Director of Da Nang Power Company, said that recognizing the Lunar New Year as a particularly important time when electricity demand from people and businesses increases significantly, the company planned well in advance to ensure power supply.
Da Nang Power Company advises residents, especially parents, not to allow children to release balloons or fly kites near power lines and substations.
