According to Kitco, as of 4:00 PM (Vietnam time) on January 27, 2026, the price of gold on the global market was $5,481.01 per ounce, an increase of $191.09 compared to the previous day. Converted at Vietcombank’s USD exchange rate (26,230 VND/USD), the global gold price amounts to approximately 173.11 million VND per tael (excluding taxes and fees). Consequently, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 17.69 million VND per tael higher than the international gold price.

On the morning of January 29, the Chinese gold market continued to surge, with demand far exceeding supply. At Mi Hong Jewelry (Ho Chi Minh City), from 10 AM, a huge crowd was waiting to buy gold rings, forcing security personnel to regularly turn customers away and ask them to return the next day at 6 AM to queue earlier.

At the same time, the headquarters of Saigon Jewelry Company Limited – SJC (Ban Co Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) also ran out of stock of gold rings. That morning, the establishment displayed a sign indicating “Sale of gold rings suspended” due to depleted inventory.

Specifically, the price of SJC gold bars at SJC, DOJI, and PNJ ranges between 186.6 and 189.6 million VND/tael, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to the previous day, the gold price increased by 4.9 million VND/tael for buying and 5.4 million VND/tael for selling.
The price of SJC gold bars at BTMC is listed between 187.8 and 190.8 million VND/tael, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to yesterday, the gold price increased by 6.1 million VND/tael for buying and 6.6 million VND/tael for selling.
The price of SJC gold bars at BTMH is listed between 187.8 and 190.8 million VND/tael, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to yesterday, the gold price increased by 7.1 million VND/tael for buying and 7.8 million VND/tael for selling.
Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars at Mi Hong Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company was listed between 188.3 and 190.8 million VND/tael, an increase of 7.7 million VND/tael for the buying price and 6.6 million VND/tael for the selling price compared to the previous day, with a price difference of 2.5 million VND.
At Phu Quy, SJC gold trades between 186.6 and 189.6 million VND/tael, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to yesterday, the buying price increased by 6.5 million VND/tael and the selling price by 6.4 million VND/tael.

On the afternoon of January 29, 2026, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong gold rings at DOJI was 186.4 to 189.4 million VND/tael, an increase of 6.4 million VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to the previous day, with a price difference of 3 million VND.
Bao Tin Minh Chau indicated that the price of gold rings ranged between 187.8 and 190.8 million VND/tael, an increase of 7.8 million VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to the previous day, with a difference of 3 million VND.
