The Process currently comprises 60 members, collectively responsible for over 99 percent of the global rough diamond trade, ensuring that diamond shipments are certified as conflict-free.
As the incoming chair, India aims to build upon the Kimberley Process’s existing framework by focusing on several key areas. The nation plans to strengthen governance and compliance mechanisms to ensure stricter adherence to the rules.
