Lighthouse Canton Appoints Head of India Wealth Business

Global investment institution Lighthouse Canton has taken a significant step to strengthen its wealth management business in India by appointing Gurjeet Sohi as Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management (India). This appointment comes as the company expands its wealth management operations in the country.

Role and Responsibilities

In his new role, Sohi will lead the development of Lighthouse Canton’s India wealth platform. His focus will be on building deep client relationships, increasing coverage of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs), and aligning the company’s capabilities in India with its global wealth and asset management framework.

Leadership Team and Growth Strategy

With nearly three decades of experience, Gurjeet Sohi previously held several senior positions in wealth management and private banking at Deutsche Bank before joining Lighthouse Canton.
Sohi will be supported in this role by Atin Kumar Saha, who has joined as Vice Chairman, Wealth Management, and Sanjay Sharma, who has been appointed Executive Director, Wealth Management. This leadership team will work together to enhance Lighthouse Canton’s presence in key Indian markets and strengthen its advisory and distribution capabilities.
These appointments align with Lighthouse Canton’s broader growth plans, under which the company aims to double its assets under management (AUM) to USD 10 billion by 2027. The company has identified India as a key growth market as the country’s wealth ecosystem matures and investor expectations evolve.

CEO’s Statement
“Clients in India now seek advisors who can understand complexities, possess a global perspective, and provide institutional-grade solutions. Gurjeet’s experience makes him perfectly equipped to lead our wealth business in India,” said Shilpi Chaudhary, Group CEO of Lighthouse Canton.
Recent Developments and Funding

This leadership change follows Lighthouse Canton’s recent USD 40 million fundraise, led by Peak XV, Nextinfinity, and Qatar Insurance Company. This capital is being used by the company for its expansion, strengthening its technological framework, and broadening its advisory and capital solutions. In 2025, Lighthouse Canton completed 10 years of operations and also focused on strengthening its global platform and increasing its presence in London.
