This article reports on a customs enforcement action targeting high-value imported goods in Jakarta. The operation underscores ongoing efforts to ensure proper import declaration and compliance with customs regulations.

JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Customs and Excise’s Jakarta Regional Office (Kanwil) has sealed several Tiffany & Company luxury jewelry outlets in Jakarta.
Siswo Kristyanto, Head of the Enforcement Section of the Jakarta Regional Customs and Excise Office, explained that this operation targeted high-value goods suspected of not being fully declared in the Goods Import Notification (PIB) documents.
He stated that this action follows the directives of the Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, aimed at optimizing state revenue potential from both customs and taxes.
he said in a statement quoted on Friday, February 13.
He said this process is carried out to ensure that all products being sold have been officially registered in customs documents.
According to him, his party will take appropriate action in the appropriate domain to address violations and improve compliance with customs obligations for the mentioned companies.

He said that currently, customs is still conducting research by comparing the documents declared by the company with the data held by the authorities and confirms that the actions taken are still within the administrative domain.
he said.
According to him, if a violation is found, the company could be penalized with an administrative sanction of up to 1000 percent of the customs or tax value for the import, under the Customs Act of 2006.
he said.
He said that as part of this process, customs sealed the goods in the vault and temporarily closed the related store.
Siswo emphasized that the management or business owners are asked to provide detailed information to the customs office regarding the import status of the sealed goods and the payment of state taxes.
he said.

In addition to stores in Plaza Senayan, action was also taken at two other locations, namely Plaza Indonesia and Pacific Place. In total, there are three stores that have been sealed.
Siswo said it is unlikely that similar steps will be extended to other luxury jewelry outlets in Jakarta for now.
