This article highlights the successful participation of Madhya Pradesh’s MSMEs at the UPITEX 2026 trade expo in Lucknow, showcasing their products on an international platform with state government support.
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Expo (UPITEX), held in the state capital Lucknow, has proven to be a major platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Madhya Pradesh this time. With the active support of the Madhya Pradesh government’s MSME department, 12 key units from the state participated in this international exhibition and captivated visitors with their unique products.
The Madhya Pradesh Pavilion at the Lucknow Trade Expo remained a special center of attraction. The main objective of this participation was to gain global recognition for Madhya Pradesh’s local products and create new business opportunities.
The 12 units selected from Madhya Pradesh for this expo presented a wonderful example of diversity. The list of products included is as follows:
- Fabrics and Textile Industry: A blend of Madhya Pradesh’s traditional weaving and modern designs.
- Pearl Cultivation: Techniques of organic pearl production and jewelry.
- Bamboo-based Products: Sustainable and eco-friendly bamboo furniture and decorative items.
- Spice Industry: The aroma of pure and natural MP spices wafted through the lanes of Lucknow.
- Packaging Industry: Modern packaging solutions that maintain product quality.
The most notable aspect of this participation was the active involvement of 2 women entrepreneurs. This is a result of the Madhya Pradesh government’s women empowerment policies, which have enabled women from the state to play a leading role on business platforms today.
The MSME Department, Madhya Pradesh ensured smooth arrangements for all 12 units participating in the expo. The department provided everything from stall setup to transportation and a suitable platform for business meetings. This initiative by the department gave small entrepreneurs a chance to meet large buyers directly without any hindrance.
Participating in such exhibitions provides micro and small industries with the opportunity to learn international standards. Entrepreneurs get a direct opportunity to understand export possibilities and enter into contracts with national and international buyers. The appreciation received in Lucknow has further boosted the confidence of Madhya Pradesh’s entrepreneurs.
The MSME Department of Madhya Pradesh remains committed to empowering entrepreneurs through such events in the future as well. The department’s goal is to take the products of every district of the state (One District One Product) to every corner of the country and the world.
