This strategic acquisition by Gemmyo reinforces its commitment to French craftsmanship, deepening a long-standing partnership with atelier Callistorea to further invest in exceptional local artistry.

French modern jewelry maison Gemmyo, which insists on crafting all its jewelry 100% in France while pursuing integrity, freedom, and a refined approach, has announced the acquisition of a stake in Callistorea, a French jewelry atelier with which it has built a long-term partnership. This move further strengthens Gemmyo’s investment in France’s exceptional jewelry craftsmanship.
This strategic investment allows Gemmyo to secure a reliable, high-quality production system within France while optimizing its value chain and creating operational synergies. This initiative supports the company’s sustainable and robust growth and paves the way for its international expansion.
Gemmyo was founded in Paris in 2011 by Pauline Reniou and Charif Debs. As a pioneer of “Smart Luxury,” it offers made-to-order jewelry of exceptional quality, all made in France, at fair prices. Since its founding, the maison has championed “Intentional Jewelry,” elevating each piece to symbolize the wearer’s emotions and personal story. It provides a warm, personalized experience both in boutiques and online, ensuring each piece becomes a memory of a precious moment.
Callistorea is a jewelry atelier founded 40 years ago in Nice. It is now run as a family business by the second generation, Claire Vial-Ronat and Alexandre Vial. It employs about 30 skilled jewelry artisans who handle all stages of jewelry creation with high precision and creativity, from initial design sketches to final polishing. Deeply rooted in its region and committed to responsible jewelry making, the atelier holds RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) certification, the Joaillerie de France label, and is recognized as an EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) and a Living Heritage Company.
This investment aims to strengthen the brand’s value chain long-term by leveraging the expertise of a hub that genuinely concentrates jewelry craftsmanship. To achieve this, the following initiatives will be promoted:
– Ensuring a reliable, high-quality, 100% Made-in-France production system as French craftsmanship becomes increasingly rare.
– Further elevating quality standards by directly managing each production step and gaining deeper technical expertise.
– Achieving fairer prices for customers by reducing intermediaries and optimizing production costs.
– Increasing creative flexibility to experiment more rapidly with new designs, materials, and finishes in close collaboration with master artisans.
Through this partnership, Callistorea gains a financial foundation to further strengthen its core strengths: quality, responsiveness, and the transmission of skills. While continuing production for its existing clients, it will build strong operational synergies within a dedicated production line for Gemmyo.
