“The infrastructure we are inaugurating this afternoon goes beyond the simple framework of a production tool. It embodies a major step in the structural transformation of our economy,” said the Head of State.

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye welcomed the scale of the investment, praising the quality of the facilities and the technological level achieved by Mavamar Industries SA. Investment and Job Creation

The President of the Republic recalled that the State’s mission is to ensure the regulation of economic sectors and guarantee the protection of investors, while entrepreneurs “take risks, innovate, create jobs and generate wealth.” For his part, the company’s Managing Director, Souleymane Ndoye, indicated that the total investment leading to the creation of Mavamar Industries SA amounts to 60 billion CFA francs. The refinery is expected to create about 450 direct jobs and nearly 200 indirect jobs, Mr. Ndoye specified.
