According to Kitco, as of January 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM (Vietnam time), the price of gold on the global market was 5,115.72 US dollars per ounce, a decrease of 394.12 US dollars compared to the previous day. Converted at the US dollar exchange rate of Vietcombank (26,100 VND/USD), the global gold price amounts to approximately 158.87 million VND per tael (excluding taxes and fees). Consequently, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 22.13 million VND per tael higher than the international gold price.
After six consecutive days of increase, the price of SJC gold bars unexpectedly reversed its trend and fell on January 30. Selling prices uniformly fell below the 190 million VND/ounce threshold established the previous day (January 29), with some regions even recording a drop of several tens of millions of VND per ounce.
Observations on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi) show that, despite the steep drop in gold prices, many businesses, such as Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy, announced they were out of stock as early as this morning. At Phu Quy, staff indicated that a reopening might be possible in the afternoon, but a long queue had already formed on the sidewalks early in the morning, with customers waiting to be able to buy gold.
Three SJC outlets have temporarily suspended their activities: the headquarters located at 418-420 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street (Ban Co Ward), the gold, silver, and precious stones center at 230-230A Quang Trung Street (Go Vap Ward), and 172 Nguyen Van Nghi Street (An Nhon Ward). However, the sale of diamond and precious stone jewelry continues normally.
On the domestic market, gold prices fell, following the global trend. The price of SJC gold bars dropped to 178-181 million VND at 4:00 PM this afternoon. This represents a decrease of 8.6 to 9.8 million VND per tael compared to the previous day.
Specifically, the price of SJC gold bars at SJC, DOJI, and PNJ ranges between 178 and 181 million VND/ounce, with a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to the previous day, the gold price decreased by 8.6 million VND/ounce, both for buying and selling.
The price of SJC gold bars at BTMC and BTMH ranges between 178 and 181 million VND/ounce, with a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to the previous day, the gold price decreased by 9.8 million VND/ounce, both for buying and selling.
Simultaneously, the price of SJC gold bars at Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company was posted between 178 and 181 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 10.3 million VND/ounce at the buying price and 9.8 million VND/ounce at the selling price compared to the previous day, with a price difference of 3 million VND.
At Phu Quy, SJC gold is trading between 177.6 and 181 million VND/ounce, with a price difference of 3.4 million VND. Compared to yesterday, the buying price decreased by 9 million VND/ounce and the selling price by 8.6 million VND/ounce.
In the afternoon of January 30, 2026, the price of Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 gold rings at DOJI was 178 to 181 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 8.4 million VND/ounce for both buying and selling compared to the previous day, with a price difference of 3 million VND.
Bao Tin Minh Chau indicated that the price of gold rings ranged between 178 and 181 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 9.8 million VND/ounce for both buying and selling compared to the previous day, with a difference of 3 million VND.
The price of Phu Quy’s pure 9999 gold rings is posted between 177.3 and 180.3 million VND/ounce, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to the previous day, the gold price decreased by 9.3 million VND/ounce, both for buying and selling.
The price posted by PNJ for pure 9999 gold rings is 177.9 to 180.9 million VND/ounce, a difference of 3 million VND. Compared to yesterday, the gold price decreased by 8.5 million VND/ounce, both for buying and selling.
