This article reports on a significant rise in domestic gold bar prices, with major brands increasing rates by 600,000 VND per tael.
Today, the price of gold bars from several brands increased by 600,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling prices compared to yesterday morning.
Brands such as SJC, Bao Tin Minh Chau, PNJ, and Bao Tin Minh Chau listed prices for buying and selling gold bars at 178 – 181 million VND/tael, an increase of 600,000 VND/tael in both directions.
In Phu Quy, gold bars are being bought and sold between 177.5 and 181 million VND per tael, reflecting an increase of 300,000 VND per tael for buying and 600,000 VND per tael for selling.
Notably, Doji reduced the price of gold bars by 200,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, trading at 178 – 181 million VND/tael for buying and selling respectively.
The price of gold rings fluctuates depending on the brand.
SJC increased the price of gold rings by 600,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, trading at 177.5 – 180.5 million VND/tael for buying and selling respectively.
The Bao Tin Minh Chau brand’s 999.9 pure gold rings are listed at a buying price of 176.1 million VND per tael.
Doji listed the price for buying and selling gold rings at 177.5 – 180.5 million VND/tael, recording a decrease of 500,000 VND/tael in both directions.
At PNJ, gold rings were traded at a rate of 177.5 – 180.5 million VND/tael, with an increase of 300,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau, gold rings are being bought and sold at a price of 177.6 – 180.6 million VND/tael, an increase of 700,000 VND/tael in both directions.
The buying and selling prices of gold rings from the Phu Quy brand both increased by 700,000 VND/tael, and are being bought and sold at 177.5 million VND/tael and 181 million VND/tael respectively.
This morning, the global gold price was $5,027 per ounce, $28 per ounce lower than yesterday morning.
Based on Vietcombank’s exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees, the world gold price is equivalent to about 158 million VND/tael, which is 23 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
Global gold prices fell as US retail sales data unexpectedly showed no improvement, raising expectations for interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve (Fed), while investors awaited key employment and inflation data for further signals.
Another key factor preventing a sharp decline in gold prices is the continuous buying activity of central banks, especially China’s central banks. Data from the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) shows that the central bank continued to buy gold for 15 consecutive months until January 2026.
Analysts estimate that the precious metals market will remain volatile and sensitive to economic data from the US in the coming days.
According to Reuters, at the close of trading on February 10, Brent crude oil prices fell 24 cents or 0.3% to $68.80 per barrel; while WTI crude oil prices fell 40 cents or 0.6% to $63.96 per barrel.
In the energy market, traders are awaiting weekly US oil inventory data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday and the US Energy Information Agency (EIA) on Wednesday.
Analysts estimate that US crude oil inventories increased by about 0.1 million barrels last week. This figure is significantly lower than the 4.1 million barrel increase in the same period last year and the average increase of 1.4 million barrels over the past five years (2021-2025).
The retail prices of petrol and diesel in Vietnam on February 11 are as follows:
E5RON92 Gasoline: Not more than 18,439 VND/liter
RON95-III Gasoline: Not more than 18,880 VND/liter
Diesel 0.05S: Not more than 18,453 VND/liter
Kerosene: Not more than 18,390 VND/liter
Fuel Oil 180CST 3.5S: Not more than 15,150 VND/kg
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance adjusted domestic retail fuel prices from 3:00 PM on February 5. Specifically, the price of E5RON92 petrol increased by 100 VND/liter; the price of RON95 petrol increased by 35 VND/liter; the price of diesel increased by 280 VND/liter; the price of kerosene increased by 214 VND/liter; and the price of fuel oil increased by 517 VND/kg.
