A recent industry report projects China’s synthetic diamond market will surpass 100 billion yuan by 2030, highlighting the sector’s rapid growth and significant economic potential.

The Synthetic Diamond Industry Conference was held on the 6th in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, where the “2025 Synthetic Diamond Industry Development Report” was released. According to the report, China’s synthetic diamond market size is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan (approximately 22 trillion yen) by 2030.

The report indicated that, currently, the global production capacity of synthetic diamond rough is about 40 million carats, of which China’s production capacity accounts for about 25.2 million carats, or approximately 63%, making China a core player in global synthetic diamond production.
In terms of market size, the global synthetic diamond market is currently worth about 127.2 billion yuan. The United States remains the largest consumer market, accounting for over 70% of consumption. China’s market size is about 14 billion yuan, accounting for approximately 11%. Zhang Jie, President of the Henan Zhongyuan Jewelry Innovation Research Institute, stated:

According to the report, by 2030, global synthetic diamond production capacity is expected to exceed 120 million carats, with China approaching 80 million carats, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26%. From 2026 to 2030, China’s synthetic diamond market size is projected to achieve an average annual growth rate of 49%, growing approximately fivefold over five years, with the market size expected to exceed 102.5 billion yuan by 2030.
