This article announces a special pop-up event in Tokyo featuring the bold emerald creations of designer Honoka Kawazoe. It highlights the unique venue and dates for this exclusive jewelry showcase.

A pop-up store featuring the powerful emerald jewelry created by ‘Emerald Hunter’ Honoka Kawazoe will be held at the gallery space of hair salon “TWIGGY” in Jingumae, Shibuya Ward, from Friday, February 21 to Sunday, March 1, 2020.
Honoka Kawazoe was introduced as an “Emerald Hunter” on the TV program “Jounetsu Tairiku.” Her remarkable achievement lies in being the only Japanese person who handles the entire process herself: from mining the raw stones to designing and selling the jewelry.
Her works are all one-of-a-kind art pieces, imbued with a sense of power that includes the dramatic story of raw stones mined in Colombia, South America—sometimes with her face blackened by soot, braving dangers—being reborn as unique jewelry through designs that highlight their primitive charm.
Necklace “Gekkabijin” (Moonflower): Colombian emerald rough, Cosquez mine, 12.74ct, ¥415,000 (tax excluded)
Ring “Acchimuite Hoi” (Look This Way): Colombian emerald rough, Chivor mine, 2.71ct, ¥300,000 (tax excluded)
Incidentally, emerald, the birthstone for May, is also highly regarded as a power stone, said to possess powers related to love, such as achieving romance or marriage. Combined with the strength of the resilient Ms. Kawazoe herself, these pieces are likely to be treasured as talismanic jewelry.
Her works showcase the beautiful, varied tones unique to rough stones.
This pop-up is a rare opportunity to see Honoka Kawazoe’s emerald jewelry up close. Be sure to visit and savor the one-of-a-kind beauty emitted by these raw stones.
