Editor’s Note
Cartier’s latest high jewellery collection, ‘En Équilibre,’ masterfully translates the abstract concept of balance into tangible art. Through bold geometry and striking gemstone combinations, the pieces showcase the maison’s enduring commitment to precision and sophisticated design.

Cartier has unveiled its En Équilibre High Jewellery collection, a series of pieces that combines geometric forms, bold gemstone pairings, and meticulous craftsmanship. From emeralds to sapphires, the designs reflect the Maison’s philosophy of balance, precision, and understated sophistication.
Among the collection’s standout pieces is Scalera, a ring centred on a 6.12-carat Zambian emerald. Its tiered setting, combined with Cartier’s signature rock crystal, plays with depth and transparency. Delicate crystal bands separate each element, creating the effect of floating diamond lines and paying homage to the voluminous, graphic jewellery of the 1930s.

Another piece of the collection is the Vetrata necklace. Vetrata centres on an 8.15-carat rectangular-cut diamond, paying tribute to the Art Deco era. Twenty matching diamonds are arranged with onyx accents in a symmetrical, radiant structure. Custom links give the piece flexibility and comfort while preserving its complex geometry.
The Byzas necklace continues the theme of balance through contrast. It pairs an 11.70-carat pear-shaped Ceylon sapphire with eight Zambian emeralds totalling 9.31 carats. Graphic motifs and openwork alternate solid and empty spaces, while geometric diamonds add rhythm and tension to the design.
Haliade centres on a 41.85-carat deep-blue sapphire from Madagascar, framed by waves of diamonds and calibre-cut sapphires. Precise links and settings give the necklace its fluid movement, while the controlled volume and openwork around the stone highlight Cartier’s technical mastery.

With Cafayete, Cartier explores colour as a material in itself. The necklace centres on two opals that radiate multicoloured iridescence, framed by coloured sapphires and set within a yellow and rose gold mesh. Its curved, flowing structure creates a warm wave of colour that runs through the entire design.
The Panthères Reflexio necklace contrasts a 74.10-carat green tourmaline with a 14.91-carat coral drop, supported by baroque tourmaline beads. Two panthers face each other in a symmetrical design, rendered with detailed anatomy, emerald eyes and onyx-tipped paws. The piece balances bold colour with Cartier’s signature sculptural precision.

Finally, Nemorosa features two Colombian emeralds totalling 5.37 carats in a necklace combining Art Deco architectural geometry with natural motifs. A pear-shaped emerald pendant appears to float thanks to an invisible setting, complemented by a diamond, onyx, and rock crystal rosette. Bold black onyx details add depth, making this piece stand out for its evocative craftsmanship.
Together, these creations underline Cartier’s commitment to precision and balance, bringing technical skill and clear design intent to the forefront.
