Interior design studio One Plus Partnership Limited has unveiled its latest project, the palatial Chow Tai Fook jewelry store in Guangzhou, China.
Inspired by the Lion dance—a popular Chinese New Year tradition—the design of the space nods to Chinese heritage in an effort to bond young urbanites with Old World reverence.
Traditional gold and red set the foundation for an immersive palette of orange-red and blue-green that distinguishes both floors of the store. The first floor draws eyes upward with compositions of metal strips in varied shades that establish a mosaic-style pattern of a lion’s head.
This effect is echoed across recyclable terrazzo whose prisms of color also depict the lion. The fur of a lion’s mane informs the textural elements of the design, particularly in plush upholstered seating. Logos adorning the wall with leather and weaving further elevate the interior’s visual richness as well.
Gifting also serves as a key theme across the interior, with gift boxes oriented in stacks along walls to form a unique cabinetry display and checkout.
