This article highlights the enduring appeal of traditional luxury watchmaking at the Baselworld fair, where craftsmanship and exclusivity remain the primary draws in an increasingly digital age.

The global watchmaking industry is showcasing its most exquisite, luxurious, and modern models at the specialized Baselworld fair, held from March 19 to 26 in Basel, Switzerland.
While they may not have the latest technological features of an Apple iWatch, around 1,500 brands are exhibiting other compelling reasons for their fine and exclusive watches to capture the attention of the thousands of attendees at the international fair.

The prices? Sky-high. A watch from the house Ulysse Nardin, of which only 30 units have been designed, can cost $150,000, due to its details in white gold alluding to the era of Hannibal in the 3rd century BC.
Other watchmaking houses such as Artya Farfalla, MBF, or well-known luxury brands like Dior, Armani, Hublot, and Bvlgari are also showcasing ostentatious models at elevated prices due to the embedded jewels and the limited number of pieces for sale.
