【Milan, Italy】Prada Launches Its First Jewelry Collection, Using 100% Certified Gold

Editor’s Note

Prada’s inaugural fine jewelry collection marks a significant milestone in luxury sustainability, being the first from a major global brand crafted entirely from certified recycled gold. This commitment to a verifiable and traceable supply chain sets a new standard for the industry.

A Sustainable Debut in Fine Jewelry

Prada has launched its first fine jewelry collection, which is also the first sustainable jewelry collection from a global luxury brand to use 100% certified recycled gold.

Verifiable and Traceable Supply Chain

All stages and achievements of the responsible production chain for the gold and diamonds used can be verified and traced through the Aura Consortium Blockchain platform, co-founded by the Prada Group with LVMH and Richemont.

Design and Collection Details

For the first collection, Iwata drew on Prada’s stylistic heritage, blending tradition with innovation. The centerpiece of the collection is the iconic Prada triangle, reinterpreted as clasps, earrings, and pendants.

“Traditionally,” Iwata emphasized, “when a jewelry design project is launched, it starts with a specific shape. Prada has extended its fashion physiology to jewelry, using its classic archetypes, such as the ‘triangle’.”

The collection also features timeless jewelry symbols such as the snake and the heart.

A Proprietary Privilege in Sustainability
“All stages of the responsible gold and diamond production chain are verifiable and traceable, a proprietary privilege,” emphasized Timothy Iwata, Prada’s Jewelry Director. “No other luxury jewelry or fashion company in the world offers it. The recycled gold comes from sources such as industrial gold and second-hand jewelry, with suppliers adhering to all the highest industry standards regarding human rights, occupational safety, environmental impact, and business ethics.”
Pricing and Launch Ambassadors

As for pricing, it ranges from €1,500 for the simplest ring to €55,000. To witness the debut of “Eternal Gold,” Prada enlisted American poet and activist Amanda Gorman, American actress, model, and songwriter Maya Hawke (daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke), and Canadian-born Korean musician Jeon Somi.
