Editor’s Note
Cartier has opened its largest Asian boutique in Tokyo’s Ginza district, a four-story flagship that also introduces Japan’s first Cartier Residence—only the fifth of its kind worldwide. This move underscores the brand’s strategy of blending high-end retail with exclusive hospitality experiences in key global markets.

Cartier Japan, part of the Richemont Group, opened the “Cartier Ginza 4-chome Boutique” in Tokyo’s Ginza district on September 19. Spanning four floors above ground, it is the brand’s largest boutique in Asia. Notably, it incorporates Japan’s first Cartier Residence, only the fifth such facility globally.

Together with the flagship “Cartier Ginza Boutique” in Ginza 2-chome, which is preparing for renovation, Cartier will now have four boutiques in Ginza. The Ginza 4-chome boutique is described as embodying both the strength and elegance of the maison’s symbol, the Panthère (panther), while reflecting “a light, airy style where new expressions of the maison come to life.” The design incorporates numerous elements derived from Japanese culture, such as the seigaiha wave pattern adorning the facade hem and wood panels inspired by origami. It also features works by Japanese artists on its art walls.
The first floor offers a comprehensive display of Cartier items. The second floor is dedicated to diamond jewelry, bridal collections, accessories, and gifts. The third floor houses iconic jewelry collections, watches, and fragrances. The boutique includes a corner for embossing initials on red boxes and a spacious waiting lounge for relaxation.

The top-floor Residence, which showcases high jewelry, is designed to provide hospitality tailored to individual client requests.
This warm, intimate space features a sofa lounge and bar counter surrounded by green plantings, with a ceiling covered in radiating dark wood ribs.
