Her most precious jewel, the one she never takes off, the jewelry every woman should wear… The jewelry designer of the brand Marguerite de Valois and founder of the chicest consignment store in the capital, Valois Vintage, indulges in our interview to reveal all her secrets.

The creator of the brand Marguerite de Valois has two passions in life: jewelry and vintage. She has turned these passions into her daily life, as in addition to running the chicest consignment store in Paris, which gathers a multitude of Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Lacroix jewelry at Valois Vintage in the 8th arrondissement, she has created her own jewelry brand paying homage to Queen Marguerite de Valois, with Byzantine-inspired pieces. The designer answered Vogue Paris’s questionnaire and opened her jewelry box to reveal which piece she would never part with, or the ultimate jewel she dreams of acquiring.

“The adventure began in 2005, when I partnered with the Gripoix brand, which had ceased operations 5 years earlier—a manufacturer of glass paste jewelry from the era of Gabrielle Chanel, Saint Laurent, Hermès, and Christian Dior. The following year, I created my own Maison Marguerite de Valois, to make pieces in my own image.”

What is your first jewelry memory?

My grandfather was a jeweler, unfortunately he stopped his activity before I was born. But I remember an unusual ring my mother always wore, probably made by my grandfather.

What is your most precious jewel?

A 1970s ring topped with very pale coral.

The one you never take off?

My Cartier Love bracelets, which have the advantage of never leaving my wrist, even at the airport!

What jewelry do you like to give to your friends?

Simple bracelets, in leather or silver.

3 words to describe your style?

In terms of clothing, my style is classic; I like solid, soft fabrics like cashmere and silk.

What is your favorite precious metal?

Yellow gold and rose gold.

Which stone suits you best?

Diamond.

Do you go for vintage jewelry?

Yes, especially for Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier rings.

Do you wear a watch daily? If so, which one?

I never take off the Cartier Ballon Bleu.
