Government Notification Expands Airport List
The government has allowed the import and export of gems and jewellery parcels for personal carriage through Ahmedabad Airport, according to a notification from the Ministry of Commerce.
List of Approved Airports
The other airports already on the approved list are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Jaipur.
Official Statement from DGFT
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the arm of the commerce ministry that handles import and export regulations, has officially confirmed the update.
“Now, the import and export of gems and jewellery parcels for personal carriage are also permitted through Ahmedabad airport.”
