Editor’s Note
This exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum marks the centenary of the 1925 Paris Art Deco Exhibition, a key influence on the venue’s own architecture. It showcases Van Cleef & Arpels’ high jewelry masterpieces, celebrating the enduring dialogue between Art Deco design and exceptional craftsmanship.

This exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Paris “Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes” (Art Deco Exhibition), which greatly influenced the design and decoration of the former Asaka Palace residence. It brings together masterpieces, including the “Entwined Flowers, Red and White Rose Bracelet” which won the Grand Prix in the jewelry section of the Art Deco Exhibition, selected from the historically significant “Patrimony Collection” of the renowned French jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels, conveying the allure of Art Deco.
