LG Energy Solution has launched an electric vehicle battery evaluation service called ‘B.once’. According to LG Energy Solution on the 27th, B.once is a service that can assess the remaining capacity, voltage, temperature, and other parameters of a battery installed in a vehicle through a single diagnostic session. It is expected to enhance trust in battery condition within the used EV trading and auction markets, thereby contributing to increased transaction activity.
The diagnostic method consists of two types: ‘Quick Scan’ and ‘Power Scan’. Quick Scan can check the battery status within 5 minutes, while Power Scan supports detailed analysis based on actual charging data.
All diagnostics are linked to a dedicated application, and the results are provided in the form of a visualized report. The report includes battery capacity, average energy efficiency, cell deviation, charging information, and degradation information to aid intuitive understanding. Vehicle sellers can analyze batteries using the dedicated diagnostic device and app, and utilize the report to provide objective information to consumers. The used EV platform ReVolt plans to introduce B.once starting from the end of this month.
LG Energy Solution is expanding its battery lifecycle service business based on its experience of supplying over 8 billion cells to more than 15 million electric vehicles since 2009. Following the launch of its continuous diagnostic service ‘B-Lifecare’ for existing EV owners, the company plans to present B.once to realize an integrated full-cycle service from battery diagnosis to transaction.
