Among these rare pieces is the Mediterranean Blue, a vivid blue diamond weighing 10.03 carats, considered by experts to be one of the most significant ever discovered. It will be the centerpiece of Sotheby’s upcoming high jewelry auction in Geneva on May 13th, with an estimated value of around $20 million.
The choice of Abu Dhabi for this presentation is no coincidence. The region shows strong enthusiasm for precious stones, both among collectors and traders. Sotheby’s sees it as a strategic market for high jewelry auctions.
The event concludes on April 9th. It marks a new step in the strategy of the century-old auction house, which seeks to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and attract an international clientele increasingly drawn to unique pieces and investments in rare assets.
