Congress Reacts to Early Trends

After falling behind in the initial trends of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Congress party has blamed the Election Commission and SIR for this. They stated that this is a direct battle between the Chief Election Commissioner and the people of Bihar.

Leaders’ Statements

Congress leader Pawan Khera, targeting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during the vote counting for the Bihar Assembly elections on Friday, said that this election has become a direct battle between him and the people of Bihar.

“These are just initial trends, we are waiting a bit. The initial trends clearly show that Gyanesh Kumar appears to be gaining an advantage over the people of Bihar. I do not underestimate the people of Bihar. They fought despite SIR and vote theft. This contest is directly between the people of Bihar and the Election Commission of India, now let’s see who wins.”

Khera added that there is a book called ‘Serving with Love’. Gyanesh Kumar is now writing the same book for Prime Minister Modi.
Apart from Pawan Khera, another Congress leader, Udit Raj, held the Election Commission and SIR responsible for the Congress and Grand Alliance’s defeat in the Bihar elections.

“This is not a victory of BJP or NDA, but of SIR; it seems one-sided. We have consistently opposed SIR and demanded answers, but the Election Commission responded as per instructions. The Election Commission is still claiming that it has received no objections.”
Context of the Reaction

The Congress leader’s reaction came at a time when the Congress party and its alliance are lagging badly in the vote counting for the Bihar elections. On the other hand, the BJP and its alliance appear to be moving towards power once again.
