JOOPITER, the digital-first auction house operated by Pharrell Williams, has announced the launch of its own ‘JOOPITER Marketplace’. This new platform, introduced in response to the current downturn in the art market, features a new function allowing for the immediate purchase of pre-owned collector’s items.

Launch with Items from Close Associates

According to a new report from WWD, the ‘JOOPITER Marketplace’ will launch with items from Pharrell’s close associates, including artist Tom Sachs, high jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz, entrepreneur and gallerist Easy Otabor, and Steven Victor, founder of the music label Victor Victor Worldwide, in addition to Pharrell’s own pieces.

CEO Statement on Community Expansion
“Over the past three and a half years, JOOPITER has built a very loyal collector following through our auctions. We built JOOPITER Marketplace to meet this demand, expand our community, and introduce coveted items that only JOOPITER can bring to market,” said John Auerbach, CEO of JOOPITER.
Featured Items on the Marketplace

Currently, the ‘JOOPITER Marketplace’ features items such as a black version of Pharrell’s signature Vivienne Westwood buffalo hat for $630, his customized black Timberland boots for $4,200, and a sample of the white Billionaire Boys Club polo shirt he wore in the 2003 music video for his hit single “Frontin'” for $735. The marketplace also includes items like Lorraine Schwartz’s three-color Hermès Birkin 35 ostrich bag (with palladium hardware), pieces from Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection, an RSVP Gallery x Off-White™ x Nike T-shirt, and works by the late Virgil Abloh.

Pharrell Williams on the Founding Vision
“JOOPITER was founded not only to bring new voices into the auction world but to reconsider what it means to be a collector. With JOOPITER Marketplace, we are reinforcing that founding ethos by expanding the ecosystem. I’m excited to bring these pieces into the world,” said Pharrell about the ‘JOOPITER Marketplace’.
