Surat. A sudden fire broke out late Monday night at a diamond factory in the Kapodra area of the city. The fire spread so rapidly that it engulfed the third and fourth floors within a short time. The incident caused chaos in the locality, and panic spread among the workers employed at the factory. Upon receiving the information, firefighters reached the spot and began a rescue operation, safely evacuating 70 diamond workers who were trapped inside.

70 Workers on Night Shift Trapped on Fifth Floor

According to the fire department, 70 workers were working the night shift on the fifth floor of a diamond factory named Reza Gems, located near Karmanath Temple in Kapodra. During this time, a fire suddenly erupted. As the fire reached the lower floors, all the workers present on the fifth floor became trapped. As soon as information was received, several fire engines from various city fire stations arrived at the scene. The firefighters began a rescue operation to control the fire and safely evacuate the trapped workers. After strenuous efforts, all 70 workers were safely brought out, bringing a sigh of relief to everyone. Although there was no loss of life in this incident, furniture, wiring, and other materials kept on the third and fourth floors were completely burnt to ashes after being caught in the fire. The causes of the fire are being investigated.
