LVMH high jewelry maison Repossi is known in South Korea as the brand behind G-Dragon’s ‘beloved jewelry.’ The ring he has worn on his finger for years—featuring repetitive linear structures with colored lacquer—is from Repossi’s Berbère collection.
Recently, a presentation of new products celebrating the 40th anniversary of Repossi’s Vendôme flagship store was held at the Ritz Paris Hotel. At the event, 13 new creations from the iconic ‘Serti sur Vide’ collection were unveiled. The lineup, previously centered on diamonds, has expanded its expressive range by incorporating colored stones.
Repossi was founded in 1957 in Turin, Italy. Now based at Place Vendôme in Paris, it is a maison under LVMH. While other high jewelry brands emphasize ornate and decorative settings, Repossi has showcased architectural settings that support stones with minimal structure and an aesthetic of negative space.
Serti sur Vide was inspired by the moment a gemologist holds a rough stone on their fingertips to check its transparency and brilliance. It is a collection that symbolizes Repossi’s craftsmanship and avant-garde design philosophy, carried on for over 70 years. The ‘Eiffel Tower’ setting, which supports stones with minimal structure, is the collection’s signature.

Among the 13 new pieces, the ‘Double Ring,’ which connects two fingers, showcased the essence of the Serti sur Vide collection. On the display stand, the band’s structure catches the eye first, but when worn on the finger, the impression changes completely. The band conceals its presence, leaving only the stones.
Without trying it on, it’s hard to grasp the ultimate minimalism where only the beauty of the stones exists on the hand. Ear cuffs and earrings featuring continuous diamonds, as well as a brooch—the first of its kind in this collection—follow the same minimalist form. The ‘Fancy Serti sur Vide,’ which incorporates colored diamonds, introduces cushion cuts and marquise cuts alongside the existing pear shape.

Notably, four of the new pieces are a colored stone line specially presented for the 40th anniversary of the Vendôme boutique. The colors—featuring indicolite tourmaline, green tourmaline, and aquamarine set in a gradient—are inspired by the Vendôme Column (Colonne Vendôme) standing directly in front of the store.
This bronze column, erected by Napoleon in 1810 to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Austerlitz, is covered with bronze plates made from melted cannons captured from the Russian and Austrian armies. Over more than 200 years, the copper on the surface has oxidized, turning into a color blending blue and green.

Repossi brought this color directly into the palette of the new pieces. Each stone was selected based on its color tone, and the sequence of setting was arranged so that the colors blend naturally. The Serti sur Vide, once filled with diamonds, has now expanded into a collection encompassing color, form, and space.
During Paris Haute Couture Week, the presentation held at the Salon of the Ritz Paris featured a Vendôme Column objet, completing the spatial arrangement. Attendees included Alberto Repossi, the second-generation head of the maison; Gaia Repossi, the third-generation creative director; and fashion journalist Suzy Menkes, along with figures from fashion, art, and culture.

“Repossi does not follow the traditional grammar of high jewelry.”
None

This was said by Alexandra Dubois, CMO. She explained that the brand has maintained its own modernity and avant-garde spirit rather than pursuing classical formal beauty. What they presented was not high jewelry where the piece itself is the protagonist. It was jewelry that can be worn comfortably in daily life by both men and women, where the presence of each gemstone also highlights the presence of the wearer.
Repossi’s jewelry is also available in South Korea. The new products can be seen sequentially at domestic stores including Galleria Department Store Luxury Hall WEST, Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch, and Lotte Department Store Main Branch Avenue L.
