This article announces the opening of a special exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fashion brand minä perhonen at the Setagaya Art Museum.

The exhibition “Tsugu minä perhonen,” commemorating the 30th anniversary of the fashion and textile brand minä perhonen, has opened at the Setagaya Art Museum.

minä perhonen, a highly popular fashion and textile brand founded in 1995. The exhibition “Tsugu minä perhonen” celebrating its 30th anniversary has commenced at the Setagaya Art Museum.
minä perhonen was founded by Akira Minagawa. The brand name means “minä” = “I” and “perhonen” = “butterfly” in Finnish. While centered on fashion, it has expanded into various fields such as interior design and ceramics, proposing designs that accompany daily life for a long time.
It is still fresh in memory that the “minä perhonen / Akira Minagawa: Tsuzuku” exhibition toured nationally and internationally starting from the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2019. This exhibition, which represents the next phase, is held on the milestone of the brand’s 30th anniversary.
