This article explores the design narrative of the BVLGARI Omotesando boutique, detailing how its architecture and materials pay homage to the brand’s Roman heritage and iconic jewelry collections.

The design concept of “BVLGARI Omotesando” pays homage to numerous iconic collections, magnificently highlighting the rich stories each one weaves. The beautiful shape of “Diva’s Dream,” an homage to the floor mosaics of the Baths of Caracalla, creates intricate geometric patterns, beautifully adorning the exterior with combination gold. The entrance, similar to the flagship store on Via dei Condotti in Rome, is framed by Travertino Navona stone, which embodies ancient Roman architecture.
Upon entering the open and uplifting space on the first floor, one’s eyes are drawn to the sculptural travertine circular counter, which breathes with the skilled craftsmanship of Italian artisans. The beautiful chandelier crafted from Murano glass by Venini celebrates another BVLGARI symbol, the Serpenti (meaning snake in Italian). The origins of the style featuring BVLGARI’s snake as a signature date back to the 1940s. The marble floor brings natural beauty to the space, reflecting the timeless charm of Italian design and the quality and excellence of craftsmanship. The backdrop of the octagonal showcases, one of BVLGARI’s signature elements, is adorned with silk in hues reminiscent of the Roman dusk, vividly highlighting the BVLGARI creations on display.
These elements come together to create a warm and visually rich space that celebrates BVLGARI’s tradition and craftsmanship.
The VIP lounge on the second floor celebrates the grandeur of BVLGARI, a Roman high jeweler renowned for its exceptional skill, and the most precious creations of “Diva’s Dream,” which is full of the ability to freely manipulate color and create a new, joyful aesthetic. The space is created by the magical sunlight that has enveloped Rome, which has long moved and inspired BVLGARI. The lounge, furnished with softly shaped Italian-designed furniture and silk cushions, is a fulfilling space where BVLGARI’s unique hospitality can be fully felt.

Artworks carefully selected for “BVLGARI Omotesando” further make the space special. A panel inspired by a 1970s heritage brooch, with its delicate depiction of Mount Fuji, evokes admiration for Eastern aesthetics. The high-level resonance between BVLGARI’s unconventional creations and the refined artistry of Japanese culture has produced art that embodies a timeless fusion of East and West. Furthermore, 1950s archive sketches convey to the present day the creative process behind the unique high jewelry piece of its time, the Seven Wonders necklace.
