Editor’s Note
This article outlines an upcoming public auction in Argentina’s Santa Fe province, where assets seized from criminal activities will be sold. Organized by the provincial agency Aprad, the event has drawn significant interest, with over 1,500 registered participants.
The province of Santa Fe is preparing for a new edition of the public auction of assets seized from crime, organized by the Provincial Agency for the Registration, Administration, and Disposition of Assets and Patrimonial Rights (Aprad). The event will take place on September 18 in the city of Santa Fe and already has more than 1,500 registered participants from 16 provinces.
A total of 159 lots will be auctioned, including vehicles, real estate, jewelry, and other items. All are offered with reference values ranging from 30% to 50% of the market price, representing an opportunity for those looking to acquire assets at a low cost.
Registration is mandatory and will remain open until September 9 on the official website: www.santafe.gob.ar/apradsubasta/subasta.
One of the central pillars of this policy is to provide security for participants. In the case of vehicles, they are delivered with new license plates and free of any registration history, while real estate is transferred with a new electronic real folio registration, with no link to the original owners.
highlighted the Secretary of Registry Management, Matías Figueroa Escauriza.
He also emphasized that in previous editions, no issues were recorded: “Vehicles have their license plates changed and, in registration terms, are born as if they were brand new, just like real estate, which has a new registration.”
The Aprad manages all assets seized in judicial cases related to crimes or misdemeanors. Their destination can be diverse: some are handed over for use by the Police, penitentiary institutes, schools, or state welfare entities; others are donated to charitable organizations, auctioned, or compacted.
With this policy, the province seeks to transform assets obtained illicitly into resources that have social utility and transparency in their management.
