Order Regarding Sweaters of Different Colors/Designs from Uniform

The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has issued an order stating that during winter, no government or private school can prevent a student from attending class if they wear a sweater of a different color or design than the prescribed uniform.

Students Can Attend Class Wearing Shoes/Slippers

The department said that if a student comes to school on any day during winter wearing clothes/a sweater of a different color/design than the uniform, they should not be prevented from being present in the class. The Education Department further stated in the order:

“It has also been observed that during winter, students are forced to remove their shoes/slippers outside the classroom, which increases the likelihood of the student’s health deteriorating. Therefore, students should not be forced to remove their shoes/slippers outside the classroom. These instructions should be strictly followed.”

The Directorate of Public Instruction has issued an order addressed to all District Education Officers in the state and all District Assistant Commissioners/Coordinators of the Tribal Affairs Department.
