Anti-Encroachment Drive Continues

The anti-encroachment campaign being run by the Municipal Council and administration against encroachers in the city continues. On Thursday, action was taken by conducting a drive in several city markets under the leadership of SDM Sadar Rajbahadur Singh. During this, raw and permanent encroachments were removed using JCBs. The team confiscated goods from the encroachers. There was a confrontation between the team and encroachers in Najihai Bazaar, leading to a commotion there.

Widespread Action Across Key Markets

Under the leadership of SDM Sadar Rajbahadur and the Executive Officer of the Municipality, action was taken against encroachers on Thursday by conducting drives in Mursan Gate, Ghantaghar, Najihai Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar Chowrah, Moti Bazaar, and Nayaganj areas of the city.

Removal of Illegal Structures and Confiscation

JCBs were used to remove stalls, street food counters, vehicles, carts, boards, and planks placed on roads, footpaths, and drains. Raw and permanent encroachments occurring on roads, footpaths, and drains were demolished using JCBs. The team confiscated materials like tin sheds from the encroachers. Municipal workers confiscated the encroachers’ goods, loaded them onto tractor-trolleys, and took them away. The confiscated goods of the encroachers were later released after fines were collected.

There was a confrontation between officials and encroachers in Najihai Bazaar, leading to a brief commotion there. The action taken by the team has created panic among the encroachers. The impact of the ongoing drive in the markets was also seen in places like Bagla Marg, Bainiganj, and Kamla Bazaar. In these markets, encroachers moved their planks, tarpaulins, boards, etc., inside their shops.
