This article outlines the route and traffic advisories for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi procession in Jaipur. Readers are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the procession will commence from Ganesh Temple on Thursday evening. It will proceed via Moti Dungri Road, Sanganeri Gate, Johari Bazaar, Badi Chaupad, Tripolia Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupad, Gangauri Bazaar, and Brahmapuri before reaching Gad Ganesh Temple for immersion. Traffic arrangements have been altered for the procession.
Traffic on the procession route will be diverted 15 minutes in advance to parallel routes. During the procession, vehicle movement will be prohibited between Trimurti Circle and JDA Chowk, between RBI Tiraha and Ganesh Temple on Takhteshahi Road, and from Dharm Singh Circle towards Ganesh Temple. Vehicles will be diverted to parallel routes as needed.
Specific diversions are planned at various points along the route, including Govind Marg, Triimurti Circle, Narayan Singh Circle, Minerva Chowk, Yadgar Tiraha, Sanganeri Gate, Bapu Bazaar, Badi Chaupad, Ramganj Chaupad, Chhoti Chaupad, Tripolia Gate, Nehru Bazaar, Sanjay Circle, Chaugan Chowk, Brahmapuri Bus Stand, and Gad Ganesh Temple. General traffic approaching these points from specified directions will be rerouted to designated parallel roads.
Parking of all types of vehicles will be prohibited along the entire procession route from M.D. Road, Johari Bazaar, Tripolia Bazaar, Gangauri Bazaar, Chaugan Chowk up to Gad Ganesh Temple.
In the evening, entry of tempos, mini/city buses, and other medium-category vehicles into the walled city area will be prohibited from Ghat Gate Chowk, Char Darwaza, Badi Chaupad, Subhash Chowk, Sanganeri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Sanjay Circle, and Galta Gate.
If traffic pressure is high on Tonk Road, buses/mini buses coming from Gopalpura towards Yadgar Tiraha will be routed via Laxmi Mandir to Sahakar Marg. Conversely, those going from Yadgar Tiraha towards Gopalpura will be routed from Ashoka T. Point to Ashoka Marg.
Roadways buses coming from Delhi Road to Sindhi Camp Bus Stand will be able to come via Chandwaji, Express Highway, Road No. 14 Pulia, Service Road, Sikar Road, Chaumu Tiraha, Panipetch, Chinkara, Collectory Circle, and Khasa Kothi.
Roadways buses going from Sindhi Camp Bus Stand towards Delhi and Agra Road will be able to go via Vanasthali Marg, Government Hostel Chowk, M.I. Road, Gurudwara Mod, and T.P. Nagar to Delhi Road.
