Editor’s Note
This autumn, the Kulturforum’s MakerSpace invites young creators to explore technology through hands-on workshops. From 3D-printed jewelry to laser-cut stamps, these free sessions blend creativity with digital skills. Registration is now open for the holiday program.

During the autumn holidays, the MakerSpace in the Kulturforum is offering a free holiday program for young people. Creative young minds can design their own jewelry using a 3D printer, gain initial experience in programming, and create their own stamps using a laser cutter. Registration is now open.
On Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16, young people aged 12 to 16 can gain initial experience in programming with the Calliope Mini from 1 PM to 4 PM each day. The workshop “Learning to Program with the Calliope Mini” uses a small board packed with technology. Participants will create their first programs using a block-based visual programming language. In the second part of the workshop, they will program their own weather station. The two-day workshop is aimed at beginners; no prior knowledge is necessary.
Young people can design their own stamp using a laser cutter on Thursday, October 17, from 2 PM to 4 PM. There are no limits to creativity: whether symbols, quotes, addresses, or characters – imagination can run free to give the stamp a personal touch. The self-designed stamp can be taken home after the event.
Participation in the events is free, but prior registration at www.kufohu.simplybook.it is required. Registration only requires a valid library card, which is free for young people under 18 at the city library. Registration for the “Learning to Program with the Calliope Mini” workshop is automatically valid for both dates; registration for a single date is not possible. The events take place in the MakerSpace (1st floor) of the Kulturforum at Freiheitsplatz.
Children aged ten and up can create their own jewelry using a 3D printer on Monday, October 21, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Modern techniques like 3D printing are becoming increasingly popular in jewelry design. In cooperation with the Goldschmiedehaus, children aged ten and up have the opportunity to try out this technology. After an introduction to 3D printing, a digital design will be created under the guidance of a trained goldsmith. Subsequently, the individual piece of jewelry can be produced on-site by the 3D printer and taken home. The event costs 12 euros per child, including materials and drinks. The fee must be paid in advance at the Goldschmiedehaus. Further information on registration can be found at www.goldschmiedehaus.com.
