The Jinju Bioindustry Promotion Agency has secured a spot at Alimentaria Barcelona, a premier global food exposition. This selection highlights the region’s growing influence in the bioindustry sector and provides a significant platform for international engagement.
The Jinju Bioindustry Promotion Agency in Gyeongsangnam-do has been finally selected as a participating organization for ‘Alimentaria Barcelona’ in Spain, one of the world’s top three food expos.
This selection is part of the ‘2026 Export Consortium Project’ overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, which supports domestic SMEs’ entry into the global market through participation in overseas renowned exhibitions and export-linked consulting sessions.
The agency will receive a total of 750 million won in project funding over three years to support domestic bio-food companies in entering the European market.
Through this project, the agency plans to support the development of K-Food and K-Inner Beauty products utilizing natural materials. It will also intensively foster strategic items such as domestically produced traditional Korean rice wine (makgeolli) with high overseas demand and region-based green bio-foods.
Participating companies will receive support including pre-promotion marketing, buyer discovery and consultation matching, export practical training, joint booth operation, and interpretation and logistics support. This will allow the participating companies to focus solely on on-site consultations and contract signing.
Alimentaria is a globally authoritative food exposition considered the primary gateway to the European and Latin American markets. It is a major business venue where global distribution and food service industry stakeholders gather. Companies wishing to participate in the project can apply through the SME Exhibition Portal by the 25th, referring to the announcement on the agency’s website.
