This article highlights the critical role of the Cardón IV block in Venezuela’s energy sector, responsible for supplying over a third of the nation’s domestic natural gas consumption.

The energy company Cardón IV, one of the most significant in the country, produces 35% of the natural gas consumed by Venezuela’s domestic market, making it a key player in energy supply. This was stated by Rubén Pérez, a member of the hydrocarbon management team at the Institute of Higher Administrative Studies (IESA).
According to Pérez, Cardón IV’s production reaches an average of 580 million cubic feet of gas per year, representing 15% of the country’s total production. This gas is crucial for daily energy needs, as it supplies the central-western region of Venezuela.
In an interview for the program Dos más Dos on Unión Radio, the expert highlighted that the gas produced by Cardón IV is allocated to vital sectors such as the petrochemical industry, oil refineries, thermoelectric plants, and domestic and industrial consumption in Zulia state.
