The jewelry and watch sector closed 2025 with positive figures despite uncertainty and rising raw material prices. The retail market volume for jewelry and watches grew by 6% in 2025, achieving a turnover of 2.135 billion euros, according to the latest data compiled by the Informa DBK Sector Observatory.
These figures continue the market’s upward trends. In 2024, the sector closed with a turnover of 2.020 billion euros, representing a growth of 6.3% compared to the previous year, following an 8.3% increase in 2023 and a 16.7% increase in 2022. According to the Report, the sector
Regarding distribution channels, specialized chains consolidated their leadership, capturing nearly 60% of the market in 2024 and reaching estimated sales of 1.210 billion euros, 6.6% more than in 2023. Independent trade, on the other hand, reduced its share to 19.1%, with 385 million euros, while large retail stores and other channels reached 21.0%.
In terms of product segmentation, jewelry and costume jewelry items concentrated 56% of sales, while watch products represented 39%. The rest of the offering, mainly silverware and accessories, accounted for 5%. Growth is expected to continue for this category in 2026.
It is worth noting that according to the report *The State of Fashion*, the global market for personal luxury goods is projected to grow between 2% and 4% annually from 2025 to 2027. Within luxury categories, jewelry and leather goods (such as handbags) are among the most resilient, with estimated annual growth of 4% to 6% for jewelry. In fact, jewelry is forecast to be the fastest-growing fashion category by unit sales in the coming years, at a pace almost four times that of clothing. Both costume and fine jewelry are expected to grow between 5.3% and 5.6% annually until 2028.
