A rare 10.03-carat blue diamond, estimated to be worth $20 million, was unveiled in a preview on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, ahead of its auction in mid-May in Geneva, Switzerland. According to auction house Sotheby’s, the “Mediterranean Blue” diamond will also be presented to enthusiasts in Taipei, Hong Kong, and New York before the sale.

The “Mediterranean Blue” will not be sold alone. It is the highlight of a collection estimated by the organizers to be worth approximately $100 million. According to a statement from the auction house, the collection includes “the world’s largest and purest diamonds, the second-largest known red diamond, and several diamonds weighing over 100 carats.”
At the Abu Dhabi preview, the meticulously cut stones were displayed alongside sumptuous jewels, including a necklace set with white diamonds featuring a pear-shaped brown diamond pendant weighing 100.26 carats.
