Phillips’ Hong Kong art month kicks off with “Picasso & The Animal Kingdom,” a selling exhibition exploring Pablo Picasso’s lifelong fascination with the animal kingdom. The exhibition, featuring paintings, works on paper, sculptures, ceramics, and multiples, highlights the artist’s exceptional ability to capture the essence of animals not merely as subjects, but as symbolic presences that reveal artistic vision and personal mythology, sources of inspiration, and metaphors.
Held from March 13 to April 15 at Phillips’ gallery in the West Kowloon Cultural District, adjacent to M+, the exhibition coincides with the museum’s special exhibition “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Picasso for Asia—A Conversation.”
