Blaze Metals, a leading global metals player, has announced its official certification as a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), underscoring its commitment to ethical practices and sustainability within the jewelry industry.
The Responsible Jewellery Council brings together over 1,800 companies of all sizes across the global watch and jewelry supply chain, from mining to retail. The council plays a crucial role in promoting responsible practices and ethical standards within the jewelry and watch industry. Through its standards, certification and collaborative initiatives, the RJC aims to build trust, transparency and sustainability across the entire jewelry and watch supply chain, ultimately benefiting consumers, communities, and the environment.
The metal company founded in Ghana has said that by becoming a certified member, it has demonstrated adherence to the Responsible Jewellery Council’s rigorous standards in areas such as human rights, labor practices, environmental impact, and product integrity.
Oheneba affirmed that Blaze Metals sources its materials with utmost consideration for environmental and social impacts, ensuring that each piece of jewelry embodies not only exquisite craftsmanship but also ethical practices and sustainability values. He noted that the RJC certification further solidifies Blaze Metals’ position as a trusted provider of responsibly sourced jewelry.
As the global trend toward de-dollarization has begun, many countries have accelerated diversifying their reserves by increasing holdings of gold and using local currencies for international payment. This means Gold is regaining its status as a reserve asset therefore its increased demand. The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) plays a crucial role in helping Gold producing countries maximize their benefits by promoting responsible practices throughout the jewelry supply chain, enhancing market access, building capacity, and fostering transparency in the gold supply chain.
Blaze Metal said in a statement that the Oheneba Poku Foundation, its charitable division is helping drive social change and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company said since 2018, the Oheneba Poku Foundation in collaboration with the Asante Kingdom has been at the forefront of implementing programmes in landscape restoration, community-led afforestation programmes and social inclusion in all discussions on climate action initiatives in Ghana.
