Chanel has been named the most valuable apparel brand for 2025, while Nike has been selected as the strongest brand. Global luxury brands maintain a leading position in terms of value, and sportswear brands lead in brand strength, reflecting diverse trends within the fashion industry.
According to the ‘Apparel 50 2025’ report released by international brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance, Chanel was identified as the brand with the highest brand value in the apparel sector. Under the direction of Creative Director Matthieu Blazy, Chanel’s brand value reached $37.9 billion (€34 billion), a 40% increase compared to the previous year.
The total value of the top 50 most valuable apparel brands in 2025 exceeded $366 billion. The combined value of nine French groups reached $135.6 billion, accounting for a 37% share. Dior, ranked 8th, saw its brand value increase by 13% to $17.3 billion, while Cartier rose to 9th place with an 11% increase in brand value to $15.7 billion.
Meanwhile, Brand Finance derived a Brand Strength Index (BSI) based on various factors including marketing investment, asset value, and commercial performance. In 2025, the American sportswear and equipment giant Nike achieved a BSI score of 94.7 out of 100, securing the top spot in the apparel brand rankings.
According to Brand Finance, Nike scored excellently on most brand strength indicators, particularly achieving high scores in price acceptability in key markets such as France, Italy, Sweden, South Africa, and Malaysia. This demonstrates Nike’s ability to maintain a strong perception of value globally. Levi’s and Dior followed Nike, ranking 2nd and 3rd respectively in brand strength.
