This article previews Pinterest’s 2026 trend forecast, highlighting a cultural shift toward nostalgia, comfort, and personal expression. The predictions are based on the platform’s user search data.

It’s my favorite time of year—the holidays, yes, but also the release of Pinterest’s annual trends forecast for the upcoming year. According to the platform, we’re looking at a whole lot of throwbacks, comforting nostalgia, and self-expression for 2026.
What’s especially great about the 2026 report—which highlights 21 aesthetics, activities, and items predicted (based on a year’s worth of Pinterest user search data) to be popular—is that it includes a trend specific to jewelry. Normally we have to glean the jewelry potential in trending fashion aesthetics, but now Pinterest is hailing a type of jewelry—brooches—as one of the coming year’s biggest trends. (Jewelry insiders could have called that one already, right?).
That Pinterest ties the trend to men in particular is exciting. Men’s brooches are not new to keen eyes keeping watch on red carpets and other celebrity sightings, but their inclusion among Pinterest’s top trends helps cement the style as mainstream…which can only mean one thing: Stock those pins!
The other 20 trends in the forecast include Gimme Gummy, referring to the wonderfully tactile feel of the bendy material, as one might find in rubberized bracelets. That’s not exactly the stuff of fine jewelry, but photos in Pinterest’s report show plenty of stacking, which does translate well to luxury and fashion pieces.
My personal favorite trend, Glamoratti, points to piling on all of the good stuff. More is more is more, and it’s time to get dressed up.
Chunky, bold gold jewelry? Certainly nothing new. And with the price of gold, we can expect many consumers to be seeking those pieces in vermeil. Still, maximalist is always a welcome term when referring to jewelry, and retailers should stock big looks in the new year.
Personal expression is a big theme throughout the report, so don’t expect demand for custom or personalized pieces, like initial jewelry, to wane. Gen Z and millennials are also reportedly interested in an icy shade of blue, so take stock of your aquamarine, stat.
In addition to Cool Blue, another color-related trend is Extra Celestial—in describing it, Pinterest notes that “opalescent” has been a big search term (up 155% from 2024 to 2025). And that means opal, opalite, and even mother-of-pearl are good bets.
