India-US Trade Deal a Game Changer for Rajasthan: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said on Wednesday that the recent trade deal between India and the US will greatly benefit the state’s economy and prove to be a “game changer” for Rajasthan. He stated that this agreement, reached under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, further strengthens India’s economic power and global trust.

Tariff Cut to Give New Momentum to Exports

The Chief Minister said that the initiative to reduce US tariffs from 50% to 18% will make Indian products more competitive in the world’s largest markets. He stated that this significant tariff reduction will facilitate easier market access for Indian exporters and provide new global momentum to “Make in India” and “Self-Reliant India”.

Textile Industry and MSMEs to Benefit the Most

CM Sharma said that Rajasthan is among the country’s leading export-oriented states and this deal will be highly beneficial for the state’s textile industry, which is the backbone of Rajasthan’s economy. Easier access to the US market will increase demand for textile and fabric products, which will also strengthen the MSME sector and create new employment opportunities.

New Markets for Handicrafts and Artisans

Mentioning Rajasthan’s rich cultural and artisanal heritage, the Chief Minister said this trade deal will open new opportunities for the handicraft sector. There is potential for increased international demand for Blue Pottery, miniature paintings, marble and wood crafts, and handwoven fabrics.

Gems and Jewellery Industry to Also Gain Strength

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said this deal will also bring relief and new expansion opportunities for Jaipur’s world-famous gems and jewellery industry. This will provide artisans and traders with better prices and a broader global market.

Export Growth to Boost Employment and Investment

The CM said that the increase in exports will have a multiplier effect on the state’s economy. New employment opportunities will also be created in supporting sectors like transportation, packaging, banking, and insurance. He appealed to all stakeholders to work together to build a prosperous, developed, and self-reliant Rajasthan.

India’s Growing Role in Global Trade

The Chief Minister said that India has signed nine major trade deals in the last six years, reflecting the country’s growing global role. He said that when the world’s two largest democracies and economies come together, entrepreneurs, workers, and common citizens directly benefit.
