Strengthening Global Competitiveness of Jongno’s Jewelry Industry

[Seoul=Newsis] Intern Reporter Jeon Su-hyun = The University of Seoul and the Jongno-gu Office have been conducting the ‘K-Jewelry Artificial Intelligence (AI) Practical Innovation Education’ program at the Future Emotion Education Institute since the 16th for two months, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of the jewelry sector, a specialized industry of Jongno-gu.

This education program was planned as a university-industry-research institute cooperation system (Jisanghakyeon) with support from the Seoul Regional Innovation System Enhancement (RISE) project. It aims to enhance the digital transformation (DX) and innovation capabilities of the jewelry industry to keep pace with the rapidly changing AI era.

The program is led by 30 young jewelry industry CEOs and practitioners selected through a rigorous screening process. Participants will intensively study AI marketing strategies and practical skills that can be immediately applied to jewelry design and manufacturing sites.

The curriculum consists of ▲AI-based consumer-customized marketing ▲Image/video generation and design utilization ▲Market trend prediction through big data analysis ▲Smart manufacturing and automation support ▲Practical project-based training. In particular, the curriculum focuses on practical training and case studies to enhance applicability in the field.

“The jewelry industry is a deep-rooted traditional industry in Jongno-gu and simultaneously a field with great potential for entering the global market,” said Professor Song O-seong of the University of Seoul (Director of the Emotional Industry ICC Center). “Through this education, we expect young managers to lead the global jewelry market using cutting-edge technology as their weapon.”
