For Alicia Greil, Lavoisier’s maxim
“Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed”
takes on its full meaning. Indeed, her handmade creations are all made from reclaimed materials. Enhanced, they become, in her hands, beautiful jewelry: necklaces, pendants, earrings. Only the clasps and assembly threads are purchased, but
“from a French supplier, partly for quality, but I didn’t want Chinese manufacturing,” she specifies. “For the ecological footprint, it didn’t seem consistent to recycle and then bring the complements from very far away.”
“Since I was very young, I have drawn and created small things to make gifts. As friends often asked me for them, I had the idea of turning this hobby into a professional activity,” she explains.
“I draw the shapes, then cut them with a small saw and finish with a file. I add pyrography before assembling them,” says Alicia.
“I select the most beautiful colored pages. A snip of scissors and a bit of folding are enough to create unique gift pouches,” she concludes.
