This report details the remarkable discovery of a 6-carat diamond by a labourer in Panna, India, highlighting both the immense value found in the region’s mines and the life-changing potential of such a find for an individual worker.

A labourer in Panna, Madhya Pradesh, has found a 6-carat, 66-cent diamond whose market value is estimated to be over 20 lakh rupees. The diamond was discovered by a person named Shamsher Khan in the Hirapur Taprian mine area of Panna.
said Shamsher Khan.
The Panna region is known for its diamond mines, where hundreds of labourers lease small mines and attempt to extract diamonds. Diamonds found here are typically not in a condition to be immediately sold in the market; they are later cut and polished.
For now, the diamond has been deposited in the relevant office and will be kept there until it is auctioned.
