The guitar you see in the picture is not ordinary. It is the world’s most expensive guitar. It is called the ‘Eden of Coronet’. This guitar is inlaid with 11,441 diamonds. It is made of 18-carat white gold. Its price is approximately 16.45 crore rupees. It was created by Hong Kong’s Aaron Shum. Its creation has its own story. It took 700 days to complete.

Collaboration for Creation

To create this guitar, Gibson partnered with jewelry designer Aaron Shum and musician Mark Lui. It is a customized Gibson SG guitar. Gibson Les Paul SG introduced the electric model of the guitar in 1961. This is what is called the Gibson SG. The diamonds for the Eden of Coronet were supplied by the Hong Kong firm Chow Tai Fook. A special feature of this guitar is that it is not just a showpiece. It can be played. Hong Kong’s Aaron Shum Jewelry took on the task of creating it for its brand Coronet.

Showcasing the Masterpiece

This precious guitar was first presented at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi. That was the year 2015. The Baselworld Watch and Jewelry Show was held then. Later, it was displayed in China. In October 2019, it returned to Abu Dhabi. It was displayed again at Baselworld.

What Makes This Guitar Special?

The guitar’s body is covered in white gold. Diamonds are inlaid in a floral pattern. The number of these diamonds is 11,441. All of these are 401.15 carats. 1.6 kilograms of gold was used in its making. It took 700 days to build the guitar. 68 artisans were involved. The guitar’s tone controls are hidden beneath the layer of diamonds.
