The company, a specialist in diamond and cubic boron nitride tools for precision industrial applications, underscores ongoing investment in European manufacturing capabilities.
Asahi Diamond Industrial Europe, a company specializing in the manufacture and distribution of diamond and cubic boron nitride (cBN) tools for grinding, sharpening, cutting, and polishing applications, is investing to increase its production capacity. Founded in 1973, it is part of the Japanese Asahi Diamond group, a global leader in the sector. Led by President Seinosuke Tabata, the company produces high-tech tools for machine manufacturing, optics, semiconductors, and road construction. It also has a research and development department that continuously innovates to improve the performance and quality of its products. As the sector leader, the Asahi Diamond Industrial group operates in over 20 countries across America, Europe, and Asia. It employs more than 2,000 staff across 13 production sites and generates a turnover of 253 million euros.
Currently located on Avenue d’Orléans, near the pharmaceutical laboratory Novo Nordisk, Asahi Diamond Industrial Europe will invest to expand its production capacity. The project involves the construction of a new factory further east, in the Entreprises business zone. The future facility, covering an area of 6,750 m², will be located on Rue Réaumur, not far from the Chartres ESAT Métiers village. It will consist of production workshops, offices, and social premises. The building permit application, submitted in May 2023, received approval from the competent authorities in July of last year.
